Kazuya Masu has been serving as Sub-Program Director of Japan’s SEmiconductor Technological Infrastructure (SETI) under the Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials and Nanotechnology (ARIM) framework since April 2025. He received his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) in 1977, 1979, and 1982, respectively. He was affiliated with Tohoku University from 1982 to 2000 and subsequently joined Tokyo Tech, where he served as President from 2018 to 2024. He is the first Professor Emeritus of Institute of Science Tokyo, a new university formed by the merger of Tokyo Tech and Tokyo Medical and Dental University. He currently serves as Director of the Global Research and Development Center for Business by Quantum-AI Technology (G-QuAT) at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Ibaraki, Japan.
